When you book your call, the expert or community member you are connecting with will either confirm one of the requested times, send a reschedule request, or decline the call. Someone may decline a call if they feel the topic is not in line with their expertise. Either party can also cancel or reschedule the call if need be.

Connect & Talk
All calls are recorded, so you don’t have to worry about taking notes.
Members can leave a rating and a review after the call.
In the case of paid calls, getWise gives a portion of their profits to a grant fund that provides funds to underrepresented groups to help them with business critical challenges or professional education – you may qualify for those grants!
In the case of community calls, these calls are free between community or corporate members, are still recorded and you can leave a review as well.
How can a member view previous calls?
Go to your profile settings and click ‘My Calls’ tab.
In this section, you will see your call history with experts and download a copy of the call recordings. The recordings are only made available to the “connector” – the person who schedules the call – and the admin team. We record calls for quality assurance
Is my contact information kept private?
All calls and messages are made through the getWise platform.
Neither party will not receive the other parties’ personal contact details unless they are mutually shared during the call.
Your contact information is only utilized for correspondence and notifications between you and the platform only.
We do not give or sell your data to any third-party companies (without your explicit permission).
If you are participating in a corporate promotion or sponsored program, your name and email may be shared with the corporate sponsor (please see our privacy policies for more details) however, no call details or recordings are shared with anyone except the connector, and we, as the platform provider, review calls for quality assurance.

If you simply choose not to be available for people to book calls with you, you can set your profile to “inactive” that doesn’t mean you can’t book calls with others, it just means your profile will not show up in search results.

- Click profile.
- Click the drop-down menu (highlighted below) and set your profile active.
You can set your profile to active or inactive at any time.

How do I prepare for my calls?
To make the most out of your consultation with an expert, or community member, we suggest that you prepare before your meeting.
Here are a few suggestions:
Clearly Define Your Objectives
What do you want to get out of the meeting?
Include a summary or bullet points of topics to be covered in the request for a call. This will help the expert prepare for the meeting and maximize your time together.
As the community expert, review the reason for the call and be prepared to discuss those topics with your connection.
Preparing for your call
Before hopping on your call, ensure that you are in a quiet location with no distractions. As a reminder, all calls are recorded, so you don’t even have to take notes!
Be on time
You can join the call 5 minutes before the scheduled time. Everyone is here to be helpful, please be respectful of their time.
What if I don’t use all the time/go over time?
Our calls are set in 50-minute blocks.
Make sure you have all the questions you want answered to get the most out of the time. If this is a paid call, we do not charge by the minute so if you go over a few minutes that is ok.
However, experts have a limited time, and they may remind you, “we have 5 minutes left,” which is an acceptable best practice.
Starting your conversation
Beginning your meeting with a bit of small talk helps you and your expert get comfortable and build rapport; however, try not to spend too much time on it. We recommend getting to the meat of your conversation within five to ten minutes to get the most out of your experience.
Following your meeting
For the member or connector, after your meeting concludes, you will be prompted to review your experience. This helps other members identify the best getWise connections and provides the feedback necessary for our experts to improve continually.
If you have a less-than-stellar experience for any reason, email us at expconcierge@wiseher.com.
Are there guidelines or rules of conduct on getWise?
The getWise team is committed to providing a safe and diverse network for business owners and professionals to get the advice they need.
We ask that all users (experts and members) read and follow these guidelines to ensure that their account isn’t at risk of being suspended or removed:
Our mission is to be helpful to all who use our platform.
If you book a paid call with one of our experts, they are giving their time away for a very reduced rate because they want to HELP. We are all on the same team. That said if you are not satisfied with the level of service from an expert you can reach out to us at expconcierge at getwiseconnect.com.
All calls are recorded for quality purposes and we can review them together and resolve any conflicts if they arise.
If you are in one of our community or corporate programs, please know that these calls are sponsored by that organization, and they are paying to have their members use our platform, so please be respectful of the organization and its members when booking calls.
No Obligation Connections
Many getWise experts are professionals, coaches and consultants who offer services. When the call is finished, they will ask if they have answered your questions in full, if so, they are then allowed to offer their services. You are under no obligation to do anything further with them unless you are interested.
Mutual Friend-DA’s
Our team and our experts want to support you and help you the best way we can, but we do not in any way guarantee or affirm that these conversations are legally protected or 100% confidential.
Each expert will act in accordance with the limitations of their license (eg. no attorney-client privilege is afforded when speaking with one of our legal experts, no stock picks can be handed over by our financial gurus, no HIPPA compliance is implied, etc.) and an expert may say they can’t get into a specific issue because of those limitations and that needs to be respected.
The calls are recorded and ONLY available to you, the person who actually booked the call, and our team for quality purposes. Likewise, we hope that you would respect the integrity of the experts and not share those conversations publicly either.
Experts
How to sign up as a getWise Expert?
At this time, experts are by invitation only.
Our team and a team of our Founding Advisory Board (FAB) members are the only ones who can issue invitations. If you are interested in becoming an expert please reach out to expconcierge at getwiseconnect.com.
How do I set up my profile?
In order for people to book calls with you your profile must be complete with:
- Profile picture, please upload a clear picture of yourself, not your company logo.
- Set availability – connect a calendar and set up your office hours
- Set payment options – you can choose between taking payment or donate your portion of the fee to our charity fund.
Be sure to review our Privacy Policy & Expert Standards for further information regarding our community expectations.
How do I get paid?
Experts do not pay to be a part of getWise, they are invited in part because of their shared-mission to provide their services at a reduced cost and help us raise funds to put back into small businesses and corporate education.
All experts agree to take a “low bono” fee. Experts received 50% of the fee paid (which is half of $99) or a flat fee of $44 per call for corporate and community program calls. If you are a member of a separate community program there are no fees paid for the calls therefore no fees are paid to you.
As a reminder, getWise takes a portion of our profits and gives them to our charity fund. And, as an expert, there are no non-circumvent clauses, so if you have a call with a member and they want to hire you we encourage you to offer your services.
Once you complete your first call, you will be contacted by our payout provider. All payments are issued monthly.
I can’t (or don’t want to) take a fee, can I donate my fee to charity?
Choose the ‘charity’ payment option when creating your expert profile. getWise was founded to make it easy for experts, coaches, mentors, and executives to help others grow and thrive.
Expert fees donated will go to our foundation to support women and underserved founders and professionals with grants to help them thrive.
How do I see my payment history?
To see your payment history, go to your account settings and click ‘Payouts’ tab. From there, you can see the payments you have received or will receive from getWise.
How can experts best prepare for a call?
Having a good conversation with a member will help you get higher call ratings and reviews, which will result in better getWise search rankings, and then result in more calls (and money) for you or your charity. All good things! Here are a few suggestions about having awesome conversations with members:
Be sure to set aside the time
Most experts find it best to be ready 10 minutes prior to the call and do the meeting in a distraction-free environment with a good wifi connection.
You can enter the call 5 minutes prior to the scheduled time.
Break the ice, but know when to move on
It’s good to start with some small talk to break the ice. Get comfortable, but move on as quickly as naturally possible to the meaty part of the conversation.
Move at a good pace
If you’re going over a lot of new information with the member, be careful not to go too fast. Remind the member that the call is recorded and they don’t have to focus on taking notes but make sure you check in with them regularly to be sure you are answering their questions.
Ending the call on a good note
Verify with the member that you’ve covered everything. If you think this person may be a good fit for the services you offer, you are allowed to offer your services only after you’ve answered their questions. Remind them to leave you a positive review.
We hope these points help you have great getWise calls. It’d be awesome to hear a success story or two from you.
If you have one you’d like to share, shoot us an email at expconcierge at getwiseconnect.com and keep us posted!
